Radiesse

Radiesse is an injectable filler used to plump up the skin and smooth out wrinkles, lines and folds around the face and mouth.  Radiesse has the advantage of a longer lasting effect than other dermal fillers, lasting approximately 9 months.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a synthetic calcium based filler.  The calcium hydroxylapatite is suspended in an easily injectable gel.  This form of calcium is a naturally occurring component of human bone and Radiesse is completely biocompatible with human calcium.  This also reduces the risk of an immune response and eliminates the need for an allergy test.

The nature of the Radiesse gel is almost 100% filler with the gel only facilitating injection.  This unique form of Radiesse makes it possible to use less filler material to smooth out an area than would be needed with an alternative.

Dr. Franco prefers to use Radiesse to fill in the glabella fold (the line between the eyebrows commonly called the frown line) and the nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the sides of your nose to the edges of your mouth).

What to Expect

Dr. Franco is a Physician specializing in non-surgical cosmetic procedures.  Dr. Franco, not a nurse or physician’s assistant, performs all injections.  Each patient’s case is unique and a customized procedure plan is determined during a complimentary consultation with the doctor.  The procedure can be performed immediately following a consultation or scheduled for another day.

Radiesse is injected in small amounts directly into the skin with an ultra fine needle to cause minimal discomfort.  A topical anesthetic is applied prior to the injections to further alleviate any pain.  The procedure is simple and quick and results are visible almost immediately.  There is no recovery time following a procedure and you can resume your normal daily activities immediately.

The procedure itself has little risk and serious complications are rare.  The most common reaction is slight swelling, bruising, or redness.  These effects should typically resolve themselves within two or three days.  There is a very low risk of infection or contour irregularities.

Pricing

Radiesse is priced by the 1/10 cc of material as less is needed than with other fillers.

The cost is $40* per 1/10 cc or 1.5 cc syringe is $600*

* There is now a fee increase of $5.00 plus 4% added to each transaction. This is Dr. Franco's first price increase in 14 years.
